Well, wynaut? Poke pun aside, I relate to a lot of what you've written about and really enjoy how creative your mind is. Growing up black and neurodivergent, never had an outlet to be creative so being an adult now and seeing someone with similar struggles while black and make it in an area, that's usually dominated by white folks, give me hope that I can do the same. My book may never reach the heights of yours, if I ever do publish it, but if it helps someone be their authentic selves then so be it. Happy new year and hope the rest of your year is filled with abundance and unlimited joy!

I really enjoy your musings. People struggle with things, but they're hard to talk about. You share so openly and say it so beautifully. It makes me feel less alone in my struggles and that it's okay to be a sad woman. And sometimes I comment so that maybe I can help you feel less alone too. So to answer your question, your beautiful way of writing melancholy and your continuing commitment to overcoming your struggles moves me and keeps me opening up your emails to see what you have to say this week <3 good luck with this, I hope you're successful and achieve all you desire!

I got Adorned By Chi and really enjoyed it. Planning on buying your latest books when I’m able. I feel seen when you talk about and share your experiences. I like seeing what you’re working on and hearing you talk about your interests. I like being able to see you succeed cause I don’t feel like there’s a lot of black women who are visible in the space that you occupy.

"Do you see me as an author?" I certainly hope people see you as an author! So far, I've only read Adorned by Chi and How to Be a Better Adult, but I've ordered How to Escape Death and am only holding off on I Live to Serve the Witch because... I buy books waaay quicker than I read them.

As for your blog, I love your aesthetic, and some topics of interest we have in common are mental health, neurodivergence, LGBTQ+, anime, fashion, and writing. Sometimes you post updates about your books, so that's interesting and useful. Also, following your blog, I've become invested in your well-being.

I don't know how to define/sum up your niche, but your brand and everything that comes out of it feel like they fit. Whatever your niche is, I get the sense that it is a combination of aesthetic, internal exploration, and magic.

I hope this helps. I'm sorry if I've rambled or written anything socially awkward. Be well and take care!

"Why do you read this newsletter?"

Good question.

It's a lot of relatable thoughts I have as a fellow creative. I, and so many others, have just been that one person in the room that feels like an outsider, especially when we have a vibrant inner world that's hard to translate to the outer world. To sum up, you're being human with us instead of trying to polish it all up to be...digestible.

As for whether you a creative, wellness advocate, author, influencer... I think, as creative folk, we have to balance how our art influences others, ourselves, and the environments we run in. Ion know, I just find, for me personally, that creativity, wellness, and influence kinda go hand in hand to some extent. So I don't blame you for trying to figure out which to emphasize cuz we all them things. But I get trying to find a way to be digestible to the grants and funders. You could change it up depending on the grant/funder?

I remember once, a while back, one of your news letters was very vulnerable about your mental health and I related a lot, and after a while of getting the NLs it just became a part of the routine. Like a friend who pops in sporadically, tells you what's going on and, for me, it gives me peace of mind whenever I get them now. Like yea, she's still doin okay, I believe in that woman.

I really enjoy reading your newsletters and I find you very relatable. I look forward to reading your post. As a Blerd who sometimes feels social awkward and anxious in social situations, it is nice to read from the perspective of someone who gets it. I also think you are brave to be willing to share your thoughts and passions with the world. Some of your post have come at times when I needed to read what you said. I am also a big fan of your past projects and enjoy reading your stories. It makes me happy to see a Black person succeeding in their dreams. I am rooting for you and thank you for being yourself in a world where people try to dull our light.

I might've told you this before, but I'll forever repeat this: you are a huge inspiration to me! I see you as an overall writer, a storyteller, and as an extremely relatable motivator. It's refreshing to see another black woman writing in this way, and being open about it. I love how honest you are with your journey, especially in a field where people often gatekeep. I remember being a big fan of Adorned By Chi and just continuing to support your moves since. As an aspiring author, you're definitely one of the people I look up to! It takes bravery to write so openly about real emotions, and the trial and tribulations of life. You do it, and do it well, and I appreciate that from you. I wish you nothing but joy in life, and success in all your ventures! <3

My first time to make a comment;

It started by cavewoman desire; sparkly& girly = pretty & nice. Then moved to relating to young corporate girl in the modern world stories of your books. Ended in enjoying your creative mind. When I get your emails in one of my brief breaks at work, it’s a good but relatable pick me up. With some of your email letters hitting me smack dab in the feels as I happen to be going through something SOOOO d*mn similar that day it’s almost scary~🫣

But when I get the updates at home it’s a fun & quick way to get some daily non-instagram/twitter/strictly ‘SNS’ reading into my day that relaxes me, makes me laugh, or otherwise is nice to read with a snack.

I feel like you’re a few years ahead of me in life, and that I have & will follow a parallel path to the one you’ve lead.

To answer the question in marketing terms so people can *try* to put you in a box, I’d call you an author & influencer that encourages the sharing of deep feelings through “fiction, fashion, and feelings” (omg the 3 F’s I love that❤️😂).

Soo, this is going to sound weird (of course lol) and cheesy, but I read because reading your articles, your book, and listening to your podcast has been the first time in my life that I’ve felt understood ever in my life. It’s almost like having a friend and having so many things in common and listening to that friend but wishing you could chat back and forth because you understand too. Like a common understanding between two people. So I look forward to reading this article because I get to hear from a friend every once and a while 😊

I tune in because you're very relatable, personally. Anybody that I keep up with or support are usually people that I relate to or that I find inspiring in some way. Please continue to share yourself with the world, forget a niche!!

I found you initially through Adorned by Chi the clothing - I loved the cute magical girl designs and then then the Sanrio collab (I have one of the HK collab shirts and love it), then read your books, and subscribed to your newsletter as well and I really love just how open and honest you are. I look forward to reading your newsletter, we have very different lives in a lot of ways but even with those differences there's so much that at the core feels so similar too. I struggle with sadness in a lot of different but similar ways, and you word things in a way that's beautiful and relatable and hits home.

I love your emails! I find them relatable, as I'm also a (mostly unpublished) writer who struggles with a bunch of big feelings sometimes. I think you have a good mix of life updates and writing updates, and your openness about both the good and bad times is really encouraging somehow.

I loved Adorned By Chi and just generally following your socials before but now it's easily in my inbox and I don't have to hope that the algorithm does the thing I want it to. I equal parts see you as a writer and a creative generally, because I love hearing your musings (definitely resonates and I love the very human approach) and seeing what aesthetic is speaking to you. I love also the link to your Amazon page so I can see what you're interested in/linking and see what new things you're writing. It makes it easy to add cute things to my own wish list and your books to my wishlist too.
