Helllooo sadgurlz and guys and people!
It’s officially 2024, and it’s already off to an interesting start for me. You’ll never guess where I spent my New Year’s Eve…
The E.R. 😭
Yes, I found myself at the place I hate most. The hospital. And no, this time, it wasn’t my own doing, ha. Once again, I tried to present as a confident person “worth” listening to, and this time…it didn’t work! After nine hours and two trips, I left in discomfort and tears 😜 I’m still figuring out what’s happening to my body. Hopefully, it’s just stress, but until then…we move!
I wanted to wait to post anything until I had good news. I felt down that my year has been off to a less-than-ideal start, especially after encouraging everyone I know to manifest great things in 2024, but I felt moved to write out my thoughts, so here I am.
I’ve written about the absurdity of life in the past and how the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once inspired me to shed my nihilistic views:
…if life is absurd, if there aren’t any answers, then it’s us who assigns meaning to it. When we give our lives meaning, even the smallest act of kindness can become a profound expression of love that transcends time and space. A day with friends can become an epic otherworldly adventure. A deep belly laugh can shake the shackles of nihilism loose, allowing us to see beyond the bagel.
Re-reading this is a reminder to me that life is random and strange. And no matter what, it will continue being random and strange. There’s no magic portal that opens up on January 1st, transporting you to a life without struggle or sadness or pain. Those things will always be there, and all you can do is your best. All you can do is try. And I’ll, of course, keep trying!
Do I still think 2024 will be my year? Yes! I’ve seen how life can change in an instant. I’ve also seen what can happen when you revel in the bad times. I want to appreciate every moment, every opportunity, and even the setbacks that show me how resilient I actually am.
If your new year is also a little sh*tty, you’re not alone! But remember, we have a wholeeee year ahead of us!! We’ve got this!! 👊🏾💗
I Live to Serve the Witch
We have more character art for my upcoming dark romance novel, I Live to Serve the Witch! If you recall, the novel will include a full manga page and interior art by Whytmanga.

Also, we have an editor! My talented friend Victoria is a journalist, podcaster annnnd editor. She edited my story (and others) for Gladiolus Magazine, and she’ll be editing ILTSTW! Once I get her the manuscript 😆. As you can imagine…it’s been a little difficult and overwhelming getting everything done in the midst of so many life changes…I also feel immense pressure to write an amazing story…and I hope people enjoy it once it’s out and in everyone’s hands.

I’m obsessed with my nails! I got them done about two weeks ago (they were a belated birthday gift 💗), but they still look great, and I’ll be sad when they grow out, ha.
