Last week, I shared how One Piece [live-action] inspired me to completely change my life. And last month, I shared that I was “running away” and changing zip codes to get away from it all. Let me tell you how it all fell into place!

I cut my lease short due to negligence on my apartment complex’s part 😬, which was a big pain but ended up being a blessing in disguise. I’d known for years that I wanted to leave Dallas. It’s a nice place to live, and I was so comfortable, but my creativity was stifled. I needed to reside in a more creative city. I’d visited Atlanta in the past, and when discussing my running away, it kept coming up as a suggestion. On a whim, I applied for a cute apartment. And…I got it!

Next, I had to get here. Another pain, because I had a lot of stuff. But in the spirit of starting over completely, I got rid of almost everything. Instead of selling my furniture, I planned a fun way to give my things away to friends.

Each person got a pad of colored sticky notes, and everyone had one minute to stick their notes on anything they wanted. One friend got two TVs, one got two mirrors, and another snagged a washer-dryer set plus a bunch of plants—fun times! It also helped me clear out my old space.

After shipping my clothes to my new address, everything else I owned could fit into my car so…I drove. Twelve hours in a single day!

Although the drive was long, I was in great spirits. As woo-woo as it sounds, I could feel my sense of wonder returning to me. I’m super excited to start fresh with new decor, in a new space, in a new city! I’ve already been on Pinterest scouring for inspo, ha. And I’ll add cute decor finds to my Amazon store as I go!

So, I started with no plan, but a plan fell right into my lap. My wish for an amazing adventure is off to a great start!
