I’m writing from the airport, heading to Abu Dhabi for the Sandstorm Comics’ Storm the Block event! In case you missed it, I’m currently working with them as a writer and developmental editor on a Shoujo series.

I’m super nervous and super excited! I'm also super exhausted because I just left my family last night, and now I’m back on a plane. I haven’t slept at all. Or eaten. But!!! Being busy to distract myself from life has been my goal lately, so I’m happy.

Random overshare: I didn’t celebrate my birthday, because honoring my dad’s life took precedence, which I didn’t mind at all! It was a touching celebration of life, and my mom let me wear her gele so I felt extra Naija 💚

Last week, I was in my feelings about new people I’ve met calling out my awkwardness/weirdness. One of them apologized to me, which I do appreciate so much. Because sometimes it’s easy to feel like no one cares how their words or actions impact you. It’s definitely a reminder for me as well. It doesn’t feel good to know you’ve hurt someone, and it’s easy to rush to defense, but being sincere and saying ‘sorry’ goes a long way.

Now, as I’ve written about before, sometimes people demand sorry’s they will never accept to keep you jumping through hoops. But that’s a different topic, lol.

Anywho, my flight is boarding??! And I’m confused, so…I gotta go!
