I'm a fellow hermit, so I totally understand this! It's like starting over every time you venture out. I have to constantly remind myself of past experiences whenever I trek into the world!
Whoowee both a hermit/introverted, *and* I'm learning how to do this life thing after caregiving for mom for 8 years! I'm getting there! SUPER gradually, but boy the first three months of the year I was deep in despair and existentialism. I like the reminder of how things are when I go out, like "see? It'll all go okay!"

How is it possible to regain yourself, when the person who gave up on you is your close one? As this is very heart breaking to see them against you.
